We’re gonna have a party here at Kenwood We’re gonna have a party all night long There’s gonna be lots of guests and food here We’re gonna have fun, the whole night long When the guests arrive, we’ll take their coats And we’ll say “how do you do?” We’ll pretend we’re having so much fun It’s what gentle ladies do. We’re gonna have a party here at Kenwood We’re gonna have a party all night long There’s gonna be lots of guests and food here We’re gonna have fun, the whole night long When we’ve finished eating we will go To the drawing room to play While the men will sit and drink and smoke Into the light of day Chorus We’re gonna have a party here at Kenwood We’re gonna have a party all night long There’s gonna be lots of guests and food here We’re gonna have fun, the whole night long We’re gonna have fun, the whole night long We’re gonna have fun, the whole night long We’re gonna have fun!

You see me sitting around Perplexed and feeling so down Although I wear these beautiful gowns (Don’t make me a lady) (You’re not our lady) They come from all over town They hate to see me around Rips at my soul and screams out so loud (You’re not our lady) (I’m not their lady) But you're doing really well In fancy clothes and pearls (Lady Dido Belle) Ostrich feathers fancy curls (Lady Dido Belle) Yes I’m wearing fancy clothes But nobody knows The hurt I feel deep down in my soul (Don’t feel like a lady) (You’re not our lady) I still have to wash their clothes Slave blood runs through my bones And they are always there to remind me (You're our African lady) (I’m their African lady) But you're doing rather well Maids to brush your curls (Lady Dido Belle) Fancy clothes diamonds and pearls (Lady Dido Belle) Am I black or white? Am I love or despised? Am I free or enslaved? Please won’t someone explain? But you're doing rather well (Am I black or white?) Maids to brush your curls (Lady Dido Belle) Fancy clothes diamonds and pearls (Am I free or enslaved?) Lady Dido Belle (Don’t feel like a lady) Lady Dido Belle (I’m not their lady) Lady Dido Belle (You’re our Lady Belle) You’re my Lady Belle (yes I am a lady) Lady Dido Belle

Who Am I 02:45
I was brought to live here By my gallant dad And I thought the household Would be glad I love my uncle And my aunty too But I feel so different What can I do? Who am I really? There’s no one quite like me clearly There must be more but I’m not sure so Who am I really? (Bridge) I look around what do I see? There’s no one else, who looks like me (Repeat) Who am I really? There’s no one quite like me clearly There must be more but I’m not sure So, who am I really?

I’ll fight for our freedom I’ll did my best to make things right Maybe I wasn’t listening And just did what should be right They’ve held my people in slavery for years Each night I listen to their miseries and fears I hope my wisdom would take us out of here And the man would set us free I’ll fight for our freedom And I won’t stop until I die My bible says no man can serve two masters And an eye for an eye I’d rather die on yonder gallows Then live here and be a slave (repeat)

I shoulda coulda woulda but I didn’t I shoulda coulda woulda but I won’t And if you think I’m kidding you’re mistaken So the history that you’re seeing won’t be told And they will never know That although enslaved Sam Sharpe could read and write And they will never know How he fought for freedom cos it was his right I shoulda coulda woulda but I didn’t I shoulda coulda woulda but I won’t And if you think I’m kidding you’re mistaken So the history that you’re seeing won’t be told And they will never know How the slaves rebelled and fought for 10 days straight And they will never know That Sam Sharpe’s a national hero to this date I shoulda coulda woulda but I didn’t I shoulda coulda woulda but I won’t And if you think I’m kidding you’re mistaken So the history that you’re seeing won’t be told (Repeat)

I Am Amazing 02:45
I have travelled through, the century And met so many who looks like me They are strong and proud Of whom they are But sadly slavery has left its scare, but Chorus They are amazing. They’re one in a million really. Oh yes there’s more, Of that I’m sure. Cos, they are amazing Bridge I look around, what do I see? The role I’ll play in history I look around, what do I see? The role I’ll play in history Chorus I am amazing. I’m one in a million really Oh yes there’s more Of that I’m sure Cos, I am amazing We are amazing Lord Mansfield: you are amazing We’re one in a million – really. We go to school to learn the rules They tell us there’re the rules of life Don’t mess around don’t play the fool The future it depends on you Yes it does now The future depends on you Sam Sharpe was shrewd and played the rules To gain the freedom of the slaves He had to choose laid down his tools And fought the system to his grave He was a preacher man Fighting for human rights Chorus To read and write’s the key of life Education is your right Learn about your history Without it you are incomplete (Repeat) I’m helping you to understand You hold the world within your hands And power too belongs to you It’s yours just say the words I can. Yes you can now Your future is up to you Chorus To read and write’s the key of life Education is your right Learn about your history Without it you are incomplete (Repeat)
